Who should become a trainer with Ascent?

We take a lot of pride in the quality of our trainers and our students often rave about their patience, expertise, and passion. So, we’re looking for trainers who thrive in their industry and love to give back by sharing their knowledge with those around them. If you’re also thinking of stepping back from the day-to-day operations on site, but still keen to stay in the industry and see others thrive, being a trainer/assessor is a great career pivot.

Besides qualifications, what key skills make a successful RTO trainer?

Great trainers are great communicators and natural leaders. You need to be able to break down tough concepts, manage a mixed bag of personalities, as well as keep things engaging and running smoothly. A good sense of humour and optimism doesn’t hurt either!

Above all, having the desire to be a mentor and the passion for the industry, are what makes a trainer stand out. A great trainer really cares about his/her student’s success.
