Grader ticket course overview

Our nationally recognised grader course will equip participants with the knowledge and skills to operate a grader in the civil construction industry. This workplace-based training ensures participants are well prepared for the diverse demands of operating a grader on site.  The course will cover the requirements of planning and preparing a job, hands on experience in operating a grader, from pre-start checks to site specific shut down procedures. As well as the importance of maintaining a clean and safe work environment, performing routine maintenance and storage of the machine.

The training is designed to be flexible and focused on the individual needs of the participant/company, ensuring that each learner gains the specific skills required for their role. The skills and knowledge gained from this course will ensure that participants can operate graders safely and efficiently, contributing to the success of their projects and the safety of their workplaces.

Verification of Competency (VoC) courses also available.

Delivery of this course is completed face-to face with a mix of classroom-based theory training and hands on practical training.

Where can I do my Grader course in Brisbane?

What does the Grader course cover?

The Grader course (RIIMPO324F) is nationally recognised training that equips participants with the knowledge and skills to operate a grader in the civil construction industry. The course covers planning and preparing a job, pre-start checks, hands-on operation, shutdown procedures, and routine maintenance. Training is delivered face-to-face with a mix of classroom theory and hands-on practical. Verification of Competency (VOC) is also available for those with existing experience. Please note that students or their employer are required to provide the grader for this course.

Do I need a licence to operate a Grader?

No High Risk Work Licence is required to operate a grader. However, you must hold a recognised unit of competency – RIIMPO324F – to demonstrate you can operate the machine safely and in line with industry standards. Most employers and principal contractors require this as a minimum before allowing unsupervised operation on site.

What do I receive on completion of the Grader course?

On successful completion you’ll receive a Statement of Attainment in RIIMPO324F and a wallet-sized operator card. These are your proof of competency and what you’ll present to employers and site supervisors.
