Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I do my Water Vehicle course in Brisbane?
Ascent Training Solutions delivers the Water Vehicle course (RIIMPO326E) at our purpose-built training facility in Richlands, Brisbane. Workplace delivery is also available on request. You can view the full curriculum and assessment requirements on Training.gov.au here.
What does the Water Vehicle course cover?
The Water Vehicle course (RIIMPO326E) is nationally recognised training that gives participants the comprehensive skillset needed to operate a water cart in industry. The course covers work planning and preparation, vehicle controls and driving, operational checks, techniques for transporting and distributing water efficiently, vehicle maintenance, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Training is delivered face-to-face with a mix of classroom theory and hands-on practical. Verification of Competency (VOC) is also available for those with existing experience.
Is a water cart the same as a water vehicle?
Yes. Water cart and water vehicle refer to the same machine. The unit of competency – RIIMPO326E Conduct Water Vehicle Operations – uses the term “water vehicle” as the nationally recognised classification, but you will commonly hear it referred to as a water cart on construction and civil sites.
Do I need a licence to operate a water cart?
No High Risk Work Licence is required to operate a water cart. However, you must hold a recognised unit of competency, RIIMPO326E, to demonstrate you can operate the vehicle safely and in line with industry standards. Most employers and principal contractors require this as a minimum before allowing unsupervised operation on site.
What do I receive on completion of the Water Vehicle course?
On successful completion you will receive a Statement of Attainment for RIIMPO326E issued by Ascent Training Solutions, along with an operator card. These are your proof of competency and what you’ll present to employers and site supervisors.
