Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I do my Integrated Tool Carrier course in Brisbane?

What is an integrated tool carrier?
An integrated tool carrier (ITC) is a versatile piece of plant commonly used in construction and mining. Unlike a standard front end loader, an ITC is designed to accept a wide range of attachments – such as buckets, forks, and lifting equipment – making it adaptable across different tasks on site. The operator cab typically rotates or offers improved visibility to assist with precise attachment work.
What does the Integrated Tool Carrier course cover?
The Integrated Tool Carrier course (RIIHAN311F) is nationally recognised training that equips participants with the practical skills and knowledge to operate an ITC safely and efficiently. The course covers pre-start and shutdown checks, site and load condition assessment, use of a range of attachments, lifting and transporting loads safely, equipment monitoring, communication on site, and coordinating with a dogman for lifting and securing activities. Training is delivered face-to-face with a mix of classroom theory and hands-on practical. Verification of Competency (VOC) is also available for those with existing experience.
Do I need a licence to operate an integrated tool carrier?
No High Risk Work Licence is required to operate an integrated tool carrier. However, you must hold a recognised unit of competency – RIIHAN311F – to demonstrate you can operate the machine safely and in line with industry standards. Most employers and principal contractors require this as a minimum before allowing unsupervised operation on site.
What do I receive on completion of the Integrated Tool Carrier course?
On successful completion you will receive a Statement of Attainment for RIIHAN311F issued by Ascent Training Solutions, along with an operator card. These are your proof of competency and what you’ll present to employers and site supervisors.
