Our Working at Heights course is full day nationally recognised training course that will equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to work safely at heights in a range of industries such as construction, maintenance, and mining. With a high emphasis on risk assessment and safety precautions, this course will allow you to feel comfortable and confident to scale to greater heights.

Learn how to identify work requirements and procedures, and inspect, fit and use height safety equipment necessary to work safely at heights along with the installation of associated safety equipment.

Delivery of this course is completed face-to face with a mix of classroom-based theory training and hands on practical training.

Where can I get my Working at Heights ticket in Brisbane?

Ascent Training Solutions delivers the Working at Heights (WH) course at our purpose-built training facility in Richlands, Brisbane. Our RIIWHS204E course is a nationally recognized unit. You can view the full curriculum and assessment requirements on Training.gov.au here.

Are there any prerequisites for the Working at Heights course?

No prior experience or qualifications are required for the full course. If you are booking the refresher course, you must provide a Statement of Attainment or USI Transcript confirming prior completion of RIIWHS204E (or its successor unit) before attending.

What does the Working at Heights course cover?

The Working at Heights course (RIIWHS204E) teaches you how to identify fall hazards, select and inspect the correct fall protection equipment, and apply safe work procedures when working at height. You’ll learn how to correctly fit and use harnesses, lanyards, and anchor systems, and understand rescue procedures in the event of a fall arrest. Training includes both theory and practical components, and all study materials are provided on the day.

What do I receive once I complete the Working at Heights course?

On successful completion you will receive a Statement of Attainment for RIIWHS204E issued by Ascent Training Solutions, along with a Working at Heights operator card. The Statement of Attainment is your formal proof of competency and is the document you’ll need to present to employers and principal contractors.

I recently completed training with Accent Training Solutions, and it was honestly one of the best RTO experiences I’ve had. The facilities are brand new and purpose-built, which makes a big difference when you’re trying to focus and get the most out of the course. The team were extremely friendly and approachable, and they went out of their way to make sure I fully understood everything being taught. They didn’t just rush through the material—they took the time to ensure everyone was confident and competent. The trainers are a great bunch of guys who all work really well together, which creates a positive and easy-going learning environment. We had constant showers of rain throughout the week, which meant the lads stayed back and made sure everything still got covered properly. It really showed their professionalism and commitment. Overall, I’d highly recommend Accent Training Solutions to anyone looking for quality training in a well-run, supportive environment.

I passed the Dogmans, C6 (60 tonne slew crane) Dozer, Roller and Tele handler course's/ tickets recently. The Training and assessment team on-site are brilliant. The course's are conducted in a safe, educational and fun way. The staff have fair but firm control over trainee groups in both theory and practical lessons. Highly recommended by me. Will be going through Ascent for any of my future training. Thanks.

Great staff here. They are very friendly helpful and experienced. Great facilities and equipment. I have just completed my vehicle loading crane and dog man courses. My tutors Robbie (vehicle loading crane) and Mark and Gerry (Dogman) were awesome they made the whole experience worthwhile. Their skills knowledge and industry experience made the learning interesting and achievable. Big thanks to those guys. The onsite accommodation is also good comfortable and great value for money. I highly recommend Ascent training and would happily study here again.

Theodore Calabrese is a great teacher and really knows his stuff. And a big thank you to Kevin for running the show in the background and sorting out anything I required when onsite, especially after another company in the area pulled out last minute. I had the privilege to sit my dogman ticket at Ascent training. Was under the tutelage of Theo and Irish Mark for theory and practical. At first glance the theory assessment was daunting and intimidating but with Theo’s tutoring and knowledge also mixed with his awesome people skills and being able to relate the questions to scenarios or situations that were easier to understand and answer made the theory side of the course a lot easier than expected. Theo also took time during classes to help guide the students who weren’t ‘book’ learners. Theo doing that made the students who struggled understand easier and were able to grasp a hold of the course. Irish Mark was awesome his enthusiasm when out on the floor was great but also his ability to teach the class in a calmer way that we understood easier. If any of us were struggling in each way Mark was able to give us little ‘tips and tricks’ that we could try and made it easier to understand in our own way. I also came across Jerry who was helping instruct with our practical dogman course. Jerry was also awesome and was able to also give tips and tricks that made it easier to grasp the concepts of what we were struggling with at the time. Theo, Irish Mark and Jerry. Absolutely appreciate and am really grateful to have crossed paths and been under your guys wings the last week. Kevin, top facilities and awesome compound. Highly recommended.

Great training centre with excellent facilities. I’ve completed a few courses here and just finished the Basic Rigging course with John. John was a great instructor – very knowledgeable and able to explain everything in a practical way that makes it easy to understand. No matter what question was asked, he always had a clear explanation. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to complete their high-risk training. I’ll definitely be back for future courses.

The trainers l had, being Theo, Mark and Gavin are very good at their craft and very passionate about what they do and how they go about engaging the students and proudly representing Ascent Training Solutions. I commend them and also to the head office administration and management staff. Sueanne handled predominantly all my processes and provided wonderful guidance and prompt and clear communication. I recently completed my dogman training here and couldn’t recommend it enough. The trainers were experienced, patient and made sure everyone fully understood what we were doing before we moved on. Training was fun. All study materials were provided to prepare for the test and the trainer was there to assist with clarifying some of the terms. Practicals lifting equipment were also there with no issues
