Scraper ticket course overview
Our nationally recognised scraper course will provide participants with the comprehensive skillset needed to operate a scraper competency and safely in the civil construction industry. The course will ensure participants are well prepared for the operational demands of a scraper operator on site. Each participant will learn about and be shown the necessary skills to be able to plan and prepare a job, hands on experience in operating a scraper, coupling with other machinery for enhanced functionality and efficiency, pre-start checks and shut down procedures, machine maintenance and proper storage of equipment, keeping the scraper in optimal working condition.
The skills and knowledge gained from this course will ensure that participants can operate scrapers safely and efficiently, contributing to the success of their projects and the safety of their workplaces.
Verification of Competency (VOC) courses also available.
Delivery of this course is completed face-to face with a mix of classroom-based theory training and hands on practical training.

Where can I do my Scraper course in Brisbane?

Please note that a scraper must be supplied by the student or their employer — the machine needs to be on site for the practical assessment. What does the Scraper course cover?
The Scraper course (RIIMPO325E) is nationally recognised training that gives participants the comprehensive skillset needed to operate a scraper in civil construction. The course covers risk management, control procedures, technical operation, maintenance, and how to safely carry out earthmoving and levelling tasks across a range of site conditions. Training is delivered face-to-face with a mix of classroom theory and hands-on practical. Verification of Competency (VOC) is also available for those with existing experience.
Do I need a licence to operate a Scraper?
No High Risk Work Licence is required to operate a scraper. However, you must hold a recognised unit of competency – RIIMPO325E – to demonstrate you can operate the machine safely and in line with industry standards. Most employers and principal contractors require this as a minimum before allowing unsupervised operation on site.
Is this course eligible for CSQ funding?
No. RIIMPO325E is not eligible for CSQ (Construction Skills Queensland) funding. The course fee is $700.00 (Fee for Service). If you are booking multiple machinery courses, contact us – multi-machinery discounts may apply.
What do I receive on completion of the Scraper course?
On successful completion you will receive a Statement of Attainment for RIIMPO325E issued by Ascent Training Solutions, along with an operator card. These are your proof of competency and what you’ll present to employers and site supervisors.
