At Ascent Training Solutions, we’re proud to help shape safer, stronger workers in the Australian construction industry. But we know that technical skills aren’t the only thing that matters. People do! And we recognise the weight that many of our students and workers carry, particularly when it comes to mental health and financial stress.
Over the years, our team has felt the impact of this deeply. We’ve supported students who were struggling mentally, who had no work and couldn’t afford to upskill. We’ve also felt the devastating loss of students and staff who are no longer with us, lives cut short by the pressures that can come with working in this industry and financial pressures. These moments have left lasting marks on our team and reminded us that we all have a role to play in doing better and being there when our mates need us. It gives us motivation to do more than just train, we want to support, protect, and uplift the people in our industry.
That’s why we have partnered with MATES in Construction, a charity whose values mirror our own.
With the help of MATES, we have developed a plan to give back in a way that felt genuine—something with purpose.
We have recently handed over and donated $60,000 worth of training vouchers, issued in $1,000 amounts to MATES ASIST Trained individuals who are equipped to identify and support those doing it tough. These vouchers are more than just credit for a course, they’re an invitation to move forward, to share the journey, upskill to gain more secure work, or give a mate some hope during a tough time.
Voucher recipients have the choice to YIELD, GIFT or SPLIT the voucher.

We believe that helping someone into a course—whether it’s Dogging, Scaffolding, Rigging or Machine Operations, it can be the spark that changes a life. We know this from experience. With the Support of MATES in Construction, these vouchers are going into the hands of the very people who are stepping up to support their fellow workers through ASIST training
As an industry-led RTO, we see every day how powerful support, guidance, and training can be. We hand-pick our staff to ensure these qualities are carried throughout the business from start to finish, and we’re proud to extend that support a little further.
