What are the prerequisites for the Intermediate Scaffolding course?
Scaffolding Basic is a mandatory prerequisite. This requirement may be met by either the successful completion of the unit CPCCLSF2001 Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level or holding a valid SB licence. You need to be 18 years or older, have basic English literacy, and bring three forms of eligible evidence of identity (EOI).
What extra skills does Intermediate Scaffolding give me over Basic?
The Intermediate Scaffolding Licence (SI) extends your scope to include cantilevered crane loading platforms, cantilevered and spurred scaffolds, barrow ramps and sloping platforms, perimeter safety screens and shutters, mast climbers, and tube and coupler scaffolding systems – in addition to all Basic Scaffolding work.
Can I progress to Advanced Scaffolding after completing Intermediate?
Yes – CPCCLSF3001 Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding intermediate level is the prerequisite for CPCCLSF4001 Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding advanced level. Once you hold your Intermediate Scaffolding HRWL you can enrol in Advanced Scaffolding.
Is there a fee to apply for my High Risk Work Licence after the course?
Yes – after successfully completing the course, you apply directly to Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) for your HRWL. There is an additional government fee payable to WHSQ for the licence application. You must apply within 60 days of completing your assessment with Ascent Training Solutions.
